Water and sewer program of works

Willawarrin-River.png

We are making the area a better place to live, work and visit by making a once in a generation investment in water and sewerage services across the region. We are committed to providing safe and reliable drinking water, along with a sewerage management system that protects the health of communities and minimises impacts on the environment. We are working collaboratively with regulators on a program of works to upgrade water and sewerage infrastructure to better serve our communities.

There are five key projects in the program of works, click on the links below to find out all the details:

Crescent Head Wastewater Treatment Plant

The wastewater treatment plant servicing Crescent Head is at capacity and needs to be upgraded to meet current and future growth as well as additional demand from an increasing holiday population. Benefits of upgrading the plant are improving wastewater quality, managing flows during peak times and meeting the requirements of its environmental protection licence.

The upgrade includes

·       constructing of a new building

·       installing new mechanical and electrical infrastructure

·       installing a new aeration system and associated pumps and pipes

·       upgrading the dosing system

·       upgrading automation, communication and monitoring systems

·       commissioning the plant.

The project is proudly funded by the NSW Government in association with Kempsey Shire Council.
