Council has made a series of improvements to the Willawarrin Showground precinct to provide residents, visitors and event holders with a multi-purpose space and modern facilities.
The $600,000 improvement project includes a new canteen and administration building, amenities and a playground, as well as work on the showground surface and roads.
This project has been financed through a combination of funding from Council, the NSW Government's Bushfire Community Resilience and Economic Recovery Fund - Phase 1 and the Australian Government's National Bushfire Recovery Fund.
In late 2018, Council hosted a Community Catch-up event at Willawarrin Hall to collect community feedback on how residents would like to see the area improved. The community expressed a desire for upgrades to the facilities and sports fields in the area surrounding the soccer field and showground.
