The Resilience Canopy
The Resilience Canopy program supports communities in Kempsey Shire to turn lived experience into practical action. Following years of repeated flood and disaster events, communities are now developing and delivering their own resilience plans with training, support and seed funding.
Led by local people and shaped by community input, these plans respond to current challenges while building long-term strength, connection and opportunity.
Three community groups have already developed action plans grounded in local knowledge and experience.
Macleay Youth Rising (youth empowerment)
A youth-led initiative supporting young people to feel connected, heard and empowered.

Stuarts Point and District Community Organisation - SPADCO (connection and sustainability)

Kempsey Business Community (revitalising Kempsey CBD)
